Open Question: Confusion. Backstabbed. advice?
me and my pal who were close when we were younger went our separate ways. we met diff rent friends and we talked every so often. lately ive heard shes been backstabbing me, for a while... calling me a show off and wat not. i travelled alot, and brought back souvenirs for them,(something tiny like a bracelet from hawaii) and she took it as "showing off" so i talked it over with her. on msn we were talking, as we figured it would be easier than face to face. I avoided talking as every little thing wrong i would say she would use against me. she was telling me things that i didn't agree with, like i showed off my camera, but i have never owned a camera, i showed off money; which i don't think i could do as i had no money to show off,my allowance was just enough for lunch. and clothes, which is something i had- but never bragged about as i knew it wasn't right. i agreed and went along with it. when i thought we had everything right, i was glad to know i had my old pal again. but than she texts my best pal and begins to backstab me again. I'm trying to do the best i can. anyone out there who's gone through with something similar? im trying as difficult as i can. advice? :(

Open Question: Can anyone tell me about Kapolei, HI? I hear it is really growing. DR Horton is building new homes there.?
Our Real Estate agent is trying to sell us on Hawaii Kai, which looks great. However, I want a new home in a new community with shopping and more of an urban feel. Not quite as urban as Honolulu, but more urban than Hawaii Kai. We will only have 30 days to home hunt, so I want to hit the ground running. Also, has anyone seen the new construction by DR Horton. I believe it is called Mihana at Nanala. Thanks

Open Question: do you think the state has a right to infringe upon parental rights, and if yes, to what degree?
I couldn't believe this story when I heard it- some judge removed a 9 year old child from the home-cause her parents named her something outlandish like lula does the hula in hawaii. he assumed anyone who would name their child this was unstable. I have gone to school with kids with crazy names like rock,Rock,Saturday,California, and thought this was absolutely ridiculous! I am every for child safety, but this seems downright fascist to me. what are your thoughts?

Open Question: Why do people feel they need the government to bailed them out of a foreclosure?
I have never lived beyond my means. I pay my bills on time including my mortgage. I have 3 neighbors who let their home go into foreclosure and yet they every steer the newest cars and have toys like boats and jet ski's. And by the way they just got back from vacation in Hawaii. I think the government should reward homeowners who pay their taxes and mortgages on time. And don't try to tell me these people were conned by loan companies. They knew exactly what they were getting into.

Open Question: My car was hit in a parking lot, most likely by the trash service...Can I sue?
I am a part time tutor for a family who live at a resort in Hawaii. I had my car parked in the guest stall. During the hour I was inside with the kids my cars bumper was ripped off. There were no witnesses to the actual accident, but the resident manager said that during that time the trash pick up was in the same lot as my car. On my bumper there are 2 distinct holes; the cop (who was there for my police report) thought that it looked like a big truck had caught the bumper and tore it off. This was a hit and run, no note. Is there anything I can do? I fixed my bumper ($500) and I saved my old one. I'd like to take them to court if possible, I can't stand hit and runs and I don't think it is fair that they receive away with it.

Open Question: Obama: Running on the Cult of Personality---thoughts? Concerns?
Phyllis Schlafly Tuesday, August 19, 2008 Smarting from ridicule about the way John Edwards' sexual mischief was covered up or ignored for months, the mainstream media have decided to avoid similar charges that they are protecting Barack Obama. Hence the unprecedented New York Times Page One treatment of Jerome Corsi's latest best-seller, "The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality." Corsi's book, copiously footnoted, assembles thousands of facts to gift a newsworthy picture of the personality and character of the presumptive Democratic nominee. After every, that's what Obama's supporters say is of primary importance. His political strategist, David Axelrod, is known for projecting personality as the principal factor in electing a candidate. Paul Waldman, the Media Matters spokesman chosen by "Larry King Live" and C-SPAN to rebut Corsi, claims that it's not specifics or issues but character that counts the most, Maybe Axelrod and Waldman are correct that the voters don't demand to be told about their presidential candidate's specific plans for withdrawal from Iraq, or health care, or tax policy. Maybe they don't even care that Obama does not have a single legislative accomplishment from his service in either the U.S. Senate or the Illinois Senate. The Obama campaign immediately issued a pathetic 40-page rant against Corsi's book, citing minor inaccuracies such as the date of Obama's marriage. The campaign rebuttal, however, was silent about Corsi's main points. [More whining] Corsi's book tells us what the voters do want to know about the personality and character of the candidate, who are his friends, who and what were the influences that shaped his worldview, and who does he owe for his rapid ascendancy to political power. The voters do care a lot about who will have access to the Oval Office and who will be invited to snooze in the Lincoln Bedroom, Corsi's book introduces us to Obama's friends and mentors, most of whom we would not want to look as White home guests. The majority of evidence for these answers comes from Obama's possess words and his two books, "Dreams from My dad" and "The Audacity of wish." Obama's books reveal him as having the personality of a man embittered by being abandoned by his African dad and his unconventional white mom, and who came to believe that race is the issue that trumps every else and must be used for the redistribution of power and wealth. Obama sought out relationships with the socialist-radical Saul Alinsky, the unapologetic bomb-thrower Bill Ayers and his Weather Underground associate Bernardine Dohrn, the Communist poet Frank Marshall Davis, leftwing Muslim-supporting politicians in Kenya, the corrupt political fixer Tony Rezko, and the black-liberation-theology Rev. Jeremiah Wright who preaches hate America and accuses the United States of creating the AIDS virus to kill blacks. Corsi's book quotes Obama's possess words as he established his relationship with these radical characters and then, when they became embarrassments, progressively changed his responses in order to distance himself from his friends. Obama's disavowals are not persuasive. Who would Obama appoint to fill the upcoming vacancies on the U.S. Supreme Court? Certainly not justices like John Roberts or Samuel Alito; Obama voted “no” on both of them and offensively called Justice Clarence Thomas the worst justice on the Supreme Court. Obama is even more pro-abortion than Senator Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., which is difficult to be. In the Illinois Senate, he voted against the law to ban partial-birth abortion, and against the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act. Later, he said, if his daughters "make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby." When the Rev. Rick Warren asked Obama when life begins, he said he couldn't answer because that "is over my pay grade." In that same televised interview, Warren asked Obama whom he would call on for advice. His response was his wife Michelle, whose Princeton thesis showed she shares Barack's bitterness about race, and his aging grandmother in Hawaii. When Obama ran for the Illinois Senate, he had four primary opponents including the black female incumbent. In a remarkable and probably unique display of political chicanery, Obama managed to receive the Chicago political machine to toss every the other four off the ballot by challenging the names on their petitions, so that Obama ran unopposed. Axelrod and Obama have decided to run a presidential campaign on the cult of personality and character. If that's the battleground of the 2008 race, Corsi's book provides every the information needed to defeat him. Maybe Hillary Clinton's top strategist and pollster, Mark Penn, had it right when he wrote this in a secret memo on May 19, 2007, recently unearthed by Atlantic magazine. Obama lacks "American roots" and "is not at his middle fundamentally American in his thinking and in his values."

Open Question: There were once these 2 prisoners in a far away land. No one knew what they had done, not even ?
the prisoners themselves. The warden would deliver the same meal of bread and water every day at 3pm, year after year until they were very old. One day, when the warden gave them their daiily ration, and with one prisoner napping, one of the prisoners asked him if he could be set free. The warden said "of course, no prob" and opened the cell and let him go, being careful not to wake up the other prisoner who happened to be napping. Eventually this ex-prisoner went into stocks and retired a billionaire and moved to Hawaii. The other prisoner didnt know how or why his cellmate had been freed, and the warden woudnt tell him. Eventually the still incarcerated prisoner died of old age, penniless, friendless and hungry. Now what is the moral of the story and what lesson is it sposed to impart? I have no idea, i was hoping sum1 can tell me. I think its a pretty good story though.
